New Pencil Portrait of Child

Hi there,

Thought I'd give you a sneak peak at a portrait from my Kids Portraits section, before I add it to my pencil portrait gallery.

He was drawn for his father as one of the birthday gift ideas for his wife's birthday last month. I love his cheeky expression - reminds me of my son!

I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks, Angela. x

Pencil Drawings of Buildings

Hi there,

I thought I'd share some other pencil drawings I've done recently with you all.

I was asked to do a series of drawings of some landmarks in and around Bath, so here are a couple of examples for your perusal. You can find the rest on the pencil portrait gallery of my website.

They were all done fairly quickly in a 'rough sketch style' as per the request, so they were a little outside my normal comfort zone.

I hope you like them.

Thanks, Angela. x

In Loving Memory

Hi there,

I thought I'd let you know that I've just added a new page to my website:

In Loving Memory - After Losing a Loved One | Pencil Sketch Portraits

It explains how pencil portraits can be thoughtful and sensitive way to remember those who we've lost. I was influenced by some recent portraits I've done of people who tragically passed away recently.

New Baby Portrait Sketches

Hi there,

I wanted you to be the first to see some of my latest work.

Here are two new Baby Portrait Sketches that I’ve recently completed.

The first baby has the most beautiful eyes which I think came out nicely in the portrait. With the second I tried my best to capture his cheeky grin.

Pet Pencil Portrait of Beagle

Pet Pencil Portrait
Hi there,

Thought I'd share my latest commission with you.

It's a Pencil Portrait of a Beagle called Alfie and the client has also given me their kind permission to use it on the Dog Portraits in Pencil section of me website.

This is the third dog portrait I've done, but I love the subject, Alfie is a very cute dog!

If you'd like to know more, please click on the pencil portraits from photos to visit my website.

Thanks, Angela. x

Welcome to the Pencil Sketch Portraits Blog

As my first post on this blog (my first ever blog!), I thought I'd tell you about myself and why I've started this blog.

My name's Angela and I'm a stay at home mum who works part-time as a pencil portrait artist. I offer Family, Baby, Child and Pet Portraits and I even do other pencil drawings such as planes, trains and automobiles. All you have to do is send or email me a favourite photograph of someone or something special in your life and I will transform it into a beautiful work of art for you to cherish.

If you're interested and want to find out more about buying pencil portraits from photos, then please take a look at my website. Anyway, enough self promotion for now.

The reason I wanted to start this blog is to allow me to post my thoughts and advice in a more flexible way than on my site and provide a more dynamic up-to-date supplement to my website.

That's it for now, more to come soon.

Many thanks, Angela. x
